Welcome Fonseca
Benvindo Fonseca studied at the Lisbon National Conservatory and at the Gulbenkian Foundation School, as well as in New York, London and Paris.
Soloist at Companhia de Dança de Lisboa and Ballet Gulbenkian – where he was principal dancer – he worked with great references such as Mats Ek, Jiri Kylian, Hans Van Manem, Orad Naharin, Itzik Galili, Vasco Wellenkamp, Olga Roriz, Paul Taylor, Christopher Bruce and Nacho Duo among others. He co-founded and was Artistic Director / Choreographer of Ballet Contemporâneo de Lisboa.
As a choreographer, he developed works for the Teatro Nacional D. Maria II, “O Bando”, Teatro Experimental do Porto, Ballet Gulbenkian, Companhia de Ballado Contemporâneo, Dance Companies of Almada and Évora, National Conservatory, Escola Superior de Dança, Academia de Classical Dance Pirmin Treku, Stadttheater Hildesheim, Opera de Berlin and Compañía Úrsula López.
From her multifaceted career, the solo dance accompanying Maria João Pires and the pas de deux for “Povo que Lavas no Rio”, live, in the presence of Amália Rodrigues, as well as the choreography of the ballet “Daw of Anunced Ending” stand out. , with Beethoven's 2nd symphony played live by the Symphony Orchestra do

Her choreographies have already been danced in Spain, Italy, Germany, United States of America, Cuba, Brazil, Greece, Poland, Argentina, Dominican Republic and Mexico.
Multi-awarded, this extraordinary dancer won the Youth Creativity trophies with the UN, the Career Trophy of the Primo-Canto Association, Oeiras City Council and RDP Africa, among many others.
He was honored at the Gala de Estrellas in the Dominican Republic and participated, in 2017, in DNA's II Winter Course as a guest professor.
